In an inspiring move for young students, Dookie Primary School recently visited the FOOTT main Head Office facility to learn about responsible waste management and effective recycling practices.
The visit took place on August 13th and aimed to give the young minds some good information about the importance of waste reduction and responsible recycling, and the impact of their daily choices on the environment.
The excursion began with a warm welcome from the FOOTT team in the Head Office with an introduction into waste and recycling generally, before donning the safety gear to embark on a tour of the main facility. There the children learnt about understanding the waste hierarchy, sorting recyclable materials, and the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling.
The enthusiasm from these Dookie Primary students was truly remarkable and demonstrated how much our young people want to learn about the role of responsible waste and the significance of effective recycling.
The visit to FOOTT is part of Dookie Primary School’s broader initiative to incorporate environmental education into their curriculum.
With their eyes opened to the importance of responsible waste management, the future looks brighter as these young environmental stewards begin to advocate for a greener, more sustainable world.
